The Great Gatsby could be a 1925 novel composed by American creator F. Scott Fitzgerald that follows a cast of characters living within the anecdotal towns of West Egg and East prod prosperous island within the mid-year of 1922. Fitzgerald was over and over irresolute about the book's title and he considered an assortment of options, including titles that alluded to the Roman character Trimalchio; the title he was last archived to own wanted to be was Under the Red, White, and Blue.

First distributed by Scribner's in April 1925, the good Gatsby got blended audits and sold ineffectively. In its first year, the book sold just 20,000 duplicates. Fitzgerald kicked the bucket in 1940, trusting himself to be a disappointment and his work overlooked.
